Job Summary
Provide a safe and secure environment for associates, patients and visitors by providing routine patrols and escorts. Monitor activities to provide protection and security for hospital buildings and premises and to prevent material losses.
Follow standards of performance in guest relations. Act as good will ambassador towards all customers. Greet ER patients with wheelchair assistance to triage and provide directions to patients/visitors entering the hospital.??? Carry a Taser at all times when on duty.??? Conduct frequent tours of the hospital and its properties. Monitor grounds via surveillance equipment. ??? Respond to security breaches and prepare and file reports incidents, accidents, or intruders. ??? Monitor grounds and facility to prevent theft, violence, or other loss of company property. ??? Maintain a detailed written activity log of all incidents and activities that occur during the shift.??? Investigate incidents as discovered / reported including falls or other injuries to associates, patients and visitors.??? Provide escorts into and out of the hospital as requested or when need arises. ??? Make use of persuasive techniques to cause uncooperative persons to adhere to hospital policies. Make use of Code West program and/or request assistance from law enforcement agencies as needed.??? Respond to hospital Codes: Red, Three, Orange, West, Pink, Evacuation In Effect, Dr. Armstrong, etc.??? Assist other departments with needs such as requests for assistance and removal of deceased from Nursing or ER units. ??? Secure and release patient valuables.??? Lock and unlock doors per schedule.??? Assist with helicopter arrivals and departures. ??? Investigate reports of thefts of hospital or personal property. ??? Perform other duties as assigned.??? Associates: Criminal Justice, High School or GED (Required)
BCLS Certification - AHA, Drivers License - State of Residence, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - Lakeland University

Skills: Officers must present themselves as professional in appearance, friendly and personable. Must demonstrate good customer relations and interpersonal skills with effective problem solving techniques involving, but not limited to, small children, visitors, patients, and employees who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, mental disorders, personal crisis or other distressing situations. Strong communication, customer relations and interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative working relationships with all staff members required. Must represent the organization in a professional manner at all times. Must be able to maintain confidential and privileged information.
Basic computer, data entry, typing, filing and organization skills required.
Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
