Job Summary
In accordance with Lakeland Regional Health System Physical Therapy and Medical Staff policies and with accepted practice in Sports Medicine, Athletic Trainer (AT) will assist physical therapist in patient care and provide assessment, prevention treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries sustained by high school athletes with referrals for further assessment as appropriate. Athletic Trainer will also act as a liaison between the Lakeland Regional Health System and the athletic community.
Promotes Lakeland Regional Health system philosophy to ensure quality care and guest relations.
Following the initial evaluation conducted by a physical therapist, the AT is responsible for following through with appropriate and required treatment procedures in physical therapy as well as instructing patients in home exercise and rehabilitation programs.
Maintains and completes accurate documentation, department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patient's treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
Maintains commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services.
Maintains effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding physical therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service.
Bachelors: Athletic Training (Required)
Athletic Trainer License - State of Michigan, BCLS Certification - AHA

Skills: Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with sick and/or irritable patients of all ages in order to gain their cooperation and allay apprehensions. Must be able to provide effective instruction to patients and families and must be able to interact effectively with clinic, hospital, and medical staff.
Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
