Service Operations Specialist Hospice - 40 Hours/Week, Day Shift

Job Summary

The person in this position provides daily support to all clinical staff, as well as provide administrative support to the three HAH locations in St. Joseph, Buchanan and South Haven. The members of this team will work together to maintain medical records, support clinical scheduling, ensure the quality and consistency of clinical documentation and processes and maintain excellent communication with clinical staff. The team will be empowered to resolve day-to-day problems. Each team member will have shared responsibilities which support team and organization goals as well as specific individual responsibilities based on strengths, talents and personal development. Demonstrates personal accountability for own continuous growth and development. Seeks out appropriate opportunities to enhance competency and improve performance.

Maintains all medical records (to include opening charts, filing, maintain paper charts, obtain missing documentation)
Reviews DNR forms for accuracy, completeness and timeliness of documentation.
Certification and re-certification oversight
Runs weekly CAT reports.
Maintains patient Suncoast charts and update face sheets as needed.
Processes physician orders.
Assists Accounting with billing and accounts payable issues as needed
Assist with report processing as needed (caseloads, medication profiles, intake reports, POC for facility patients)
Supports IDT processes and tasks in whatever manner needed by the team members.

Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
