SVP of Information Technology

The Senior Vice President of Information Technology is a member of the executive management team, responsible for providing vision and insight into the development and implementation of the IT strategic plan, demonstrating leadership, and driving competitive capability through innovation and technology solutions. The position ensures quality control of Information Technology solutions provided to the credit union; has budgetary responsibility for short-term and long-term technology investments; and develops and oversees the execution of the IT strategic plan.? The SVP of Information Technology ensures that technology serves the business by making the member experience the number one priority.

Essential Functions, in Priority Order?(Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)

  1. Provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives in support of credit union business objectives and strategies. Creates and executes the 3 year IT roadmap.??Time: 20%
  2. Collaborates as a member of the executive management team to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support effective technology solutions. Provides decision expertise regarding executive decisions as they relate to information technology investments and the corporate strategic plans.?Time: 20%
  3. Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, and prioritizing IT initiatives.?Time: 15%
  4. Develops and maintains an effective IT organizational structure to support the current and future business needs. Fosters a strong culture of teamwork within the IT organization as well as through cross-collaboration across all Credit Union departments.? Provides the resources and opportunity for personal growth to maintain a motivated and skilled technology team.? Ensure continuity and succession plans exist for all key skills and duties. ?Time: 15%
  5. Identifies opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.?Time: 10%
  6. Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.?Time: 10%
  7. Manages strategic vendor relationships at a high level to control assets, drive service excellence, and mitigate risks in order to gain increased value from technology partners. ?Time: 10%

Education?(Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field or eight years of related work experience required.

Experience?(Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)

  • Minimum of 8 years effective leadership experience in an information technologies department is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years? experience in strategic technology planning, technology project execution, and project management required.
  • Previous financial institution experience strongly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
