Industrial Maintenance Associate

Colson Group USA located in St. Joseph Michigan is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Associate.

Successful candidate will be able to work within the warehouse team to fulfill the daily responsibilities of the maintenance department by completion of maintenance requests. Diagnose and repair plant equipment. Work with outside contractors as necessary to support the operation. Plan, order or fabricate materials as needed. Accomplish work results by striving to meet expectations, and completion of maintenance related tasks. Report on those activities to management lead in the support of company initiatives, standards, policies and overall continuous improvement.

Candidate must have 1-2 years experiance in the industrial maintenance field and be able to assess and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.


Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma and have completed a minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance trade school or related experience. Associates Degree in a related field is preferred.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Achieve positive work results, establish priorities, and monitor progress of maintenance task completion.
  • Report, as needed to the group lead, the results of maintenance activities.
  • Work to achieve a high level of productivity in all areas while maintaining a best in class level of quality of work and customer service.
  • Support company initiatives through timely completion of maintenance related support.
  • Support the creation and sustainment or processes and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Support the efforts of other departments through prompt responsiveness to requests and inquiries.

The skills required for this position are:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies.
  • Able to organize daily work and track accountability.
  • Ability to use software including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Able to accomplish work results, priorities, monitor work progress, report results of work floww on shift summary.
  • Must train on all material handling equipment.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizationa standards.
  • Must have good work ethic.
  • Must be knowledge of safety while working in maintenance.
  • Must be able to organize and coordinate schedules.
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret complex data related to maintenance duties.
  • Must be able to calibrate precise measurements.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to communicate with public, contractors or vendors.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of excessive bending or stooping.
  • Must be able to walk long distances unassisted repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Capable to sit and drive a vehicle - drivers license required.
  • Capable of climbing ladders.
  • Capable of using hand tools in completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Cabable of operationg forklift, manlifts, turrets trucks and other heave material handling equipment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
