Responsible for day-to-day activities for the charge entry/audit process for Perioperative Services. Must possess a complete knowledge of Perioperative charging practices, be an effective communicator and educator. Able to structure his/her time and work load to meet imposed time restraints.
ā ¢ Maintains a commitment to the achievement of quality health care services by maintaining patient rights, safety, privacy, confidentiality, and the Acustomer relations@ philosophy. ā ¢ Maintains a commitment to professional growth and development by participation in mandatory in-services, certification, Lakeland Regional Health System (LRHS) committees, and educational programs for improvement of self to maintain competency. ā ¢ Establishes and maintains open, professional and positive communication in all aspects of job performance. ā ¢ Participates in economical utilization of supplies, equipment and resources. ā ¢ Conducts audits/reports to assure that the patient bill charges are 100% accurate. ā ¢ Identifies, investigates, resolves and reports charging and documentation issues within Perioperative Services. ā ¢ Perform other duties as assigned. ā ¢ Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed in order to interact effectively with physician, nursing staff, and other hospital departments. Situations may occur which produce a moderate level of stress.
Basic computer, data entry, typing, filing and organization skills required.
  • Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
  • Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
